The announcements of the 2008 inductees to the Poker Hall of Fame was delayed so as allow the ceremony to coincide with the final table of the WSOP Main Event. The two players honored this year are Dewey Tomko and Henry Orenstein. The ceremony took place on November 9 at the Penn & Teller Theater at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Ameranth Inc. have received a patent for their “Casino Poker and Dealer Management System”. The patent will run till December 2025. Ameranth had begun work on this system in 2001.

 

NextPoker has reacted strongly to reports by BWin, that it has been forcibly removed from the latter’s Ongame Poker network because of rakeback charges. Though Cryptologic did not name the network, industry sources reveal that it is none other than PartyPoker, which is the online poker brand of PartyGaming.
