Cryptologic has announced that it was in discussion with a major poker network for the sharing of their poker resources. Though Cryptologic did not name the network, industry sources reveal that it is none other than PartyPoker, which is the online poker brand of PartyGaming. Both Cryptologic and PartyPoker are struggling to maintain their share of the online poker market.
Cryptologic has lost two important poker clients. WPT Enterprises Inc. has informed Cryptologic that it will shut down its online poker room powered by the latter in mid November. William Hill Plc has switched all its online gambling portals, including poker, to Cryptologic’s competitor Playtech. Therefore Cryptologic is in need to make up lost market share. PartyPoker has been in trouble since the passing of the UIGEA when it had to exit from the U.S. market where it had a commanding share.
Cryptologic and PartyCasino, the online casino portal of PartyGaming, have already announced a licensing agreement through which the branded Cryptologic online slots will be offered at PartyCasino.
