The PokerNews Cup Season 2 is being held at the Crown Casino in Melbourne. The tournament will run from October 12 to October 20. The Event 1, AUD230 No Limit Hold’em $75,000 Guaranteed is over.
The 422 entrants resulted in the prize pool exceeding the guaranteed amount. The more high profile players participating in the event were Karib Karib, Antonio Casale and Jozef Berec. Ultimately the local boy Harry Ligos won the first place with a prize money of $17,732.
Meanwhile in Auckland the 3-day Asia Pacific Poker Tour event came to an end in the SKYCITY Hotel and Casino. Daniel Craker and Matthew Konnecke clashed in the heads up. Craker was way ahead and wrapped up the event in only two hands. Craker took home the first prize of NZD $257,040 and free entry to the APPT Main Grand Final in Sydney. Konnecke won NZD $162,791 as the second place prize.
