PokerStars sponsored Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) has moved to New Zealand. The action is scheduled to begin on the 9th of October at the SKYCITY Casino in Auckland. This is the third stop of the APPT after Macau and Seoul.

Already over 250 participants have registered for the Main Event including Team Poker Star Pros Joe Hachem, Greg Raymer, Chris Moneymaker and Lee “Final Table” Nelson. The Main Event will have a buy-in of NZD$3,000 and will be followed by the usual High Roller tournament that will have a buy-in of NZD$10,000. In between there will be time for Lee Nelson workshops and book signings.

Meanwhile the satellite events have started. One of them featured former Miss New Zealand, Amber Peebles, wearing 200 SKYCITY casino chips worth NZD $5,000 each, the entire ensemble being a million-dollar poker dress. The dress weighed more than five pounds and Amber was escorted by casino security staff throughout.
