The Caesars Palace Classic is one of the richest poker tournaments. It is held in the Poker Room at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The main event, known as the Classic Championship paid out almost $3 million with $1 million going to the winner.

 

The schedule for the 2009 Asian Poker Tour has been announced by the tournament’s organizers, with Manila being billed as the first stop.

 

Reno will host the First Annual State of Nevada Championship Poker from September 25 to October 5. The championship will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. In all there will be 32 separate events out of which 11 are being billed as “State Championship” events.

 

Two important ladies only events are scheduled to take place this month. On November 24 was The Grand Fall Classic Poker Series at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. The event was held in No-Limit Hold’em. The buy-in was $200 and the entrance fee was $30. The players started with 8,000 in chips.

 

Whenever there is a major tournament like WSOP several side events are held to add a festive color to the event. PartyPoker will be hosting its third season of Poker Den in London alongside WSOPE. Poker Den will constitute a continuous 36 hours of high stakes cash games. Each player will start with $10,000 of his or her own funds.

 

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) held its inaugural event in London in 2007. Now WSOPE has announced the schedule for September 2008 and has made a welcome departure from last year.

 

The Bluff Poker Tour (BPT) will be a series of online tournaments modeled on the World Poker Tour (WPT). Whereas WPT tournaments are held live in different cities of the world, the BPT tournaments will be held at online poker rooms such as Doyles Room, Pitbull Poker, True Poker and Reefer Poker.

 

Bodog Poker has announced the schedule for its second mega event, which will take place between September 28 and October 5 and will be known as Bodog Poker Open II or BPO II. The BPO I was held in March this year with six events. Then Bodog Poker had to contribute $25,000 to the Main Event to ensure that it crossed the $300,000 mark. Shawn “phatcat” Luman won the first prize of $76,280 in that tournament.

 

Last Sunday both tournaments at PokerStars topped the $1 million mark in prize pools. The Sunday Million fielded over 8,000 players making the prize pool cross $1.6 Million. The Sunday Warm Up also topped the $1.1 million mark because of the 1,500 rebuys that are currently being allowed under a promotional scheme.

 

Titan Poker, the popular online poker room, has announced that it is running a series of Super Satellites that will allow players to win a superb prize package to attend one of next year’s most lucrative land poker tournaments – the Asian Poker Tour Manila event.

 

The penultimate event in the World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) sponsored by PokerStars has been decided. This was the $10,300 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. With the exception of the high roller event, this was the costliest buy-in in WCOOP.

Bodog Poker has announced the schedule for its second upcoming Bodog Poker Open tournament that will launch on the 28th of this month. Bodog said that there would be fourteen exciting events that comprise the tournament, including six fun bounty events where players go for Team Bodog members.
