Typography

Reno will host the First Annual State of Nevada Championship Poker from September 25 to October 5. The championship will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. In all there will be 32 separate events out of which 11 are being billed as “State Championship” events.

On each day a State Championship event will be held in a different poker game or a different format of the game. Apart from Texas Hold’em the State Championship events will cover H.O.R.S.E., Omaha and Stud. A Seniors event will be held for players above 50 and there will be a Ladies event sponsored by LIPS. The Main Event will be the $1,080 buy-in No Limit Hold’em that will be played out over two days. This will be preceded by two $230 satellites to the Main Event.

The WPT has pulled out of Reno and the First Annual State of Nevada Championship Poker will fill in the gap. The Grand Sierra will be offering special rates to tournament players and visitors during the championship and will be laying out excellent dining and entertainment for them.
