The penultimate event in the World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) sponsored by PokerStars has been decided. This was the $10,300 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. With the exception of the high roller event, this was the costliest buy-in in WCOOP.

The event offered a guaranteed prize of $500,000 but thanks to a field of 125 entrants the prize pool swelled to $1,250,000. Online player “DocHolatchya” came first and won the first prize of $287,500. The stage is now set for the $5,200 Main Event. With 2,185 entries the prize pool of this event has reached $10,925,000, which is just above the guaranteed prize of $10 million. #24 players will cash.

The sun never sets on the poker world. Just as WCOOP is drawing to a close, the European World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) has already started. Day1 of the first event is over and the luminaries of live tournaments were present in full force. They included Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, Jennifer Tilly, Phil Laak, Phil Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.
