The French government announced that it would be floating its 72% of shares owned in the French lottery, La Francaise Des Jeux as soon as next year in a bid to privatize the company. Moves are presently being made to create the necessary legislation to float these shares.

 

Taking the lead from New Zealand, the Belgian government learned this week how the National Lottery will be making its way online from as early as next year. Speaking to the country’s House of Representatives, the country’s Finance Minister said that the Belgian public was ready to take its lottery gambling online. “More and more persons use the internet to purchase a variety of legal and illegal services and goods,” said Didier Reynders.

 

As Turkey announces its intentions to privatize its lottery company, Milli Piyango, local and international companies are already scrambling to try and meet the requirements set in place by authorities in their offer of a 10 year lottery contract.

 

A small games developer company, the Gameologist Group LLC is suing the New York Lottery for alleged trademark infringement. The lawsuit, which also claims that Scientific Games Inc. was involved, accuses the two for stealing a game that was developed and patented by Gameologist Group.
