PartyPoker's Premier League III

Typography

PartyPoker has preponed its Season 3 of the Premier League from 2009 to the last week of November 2008 at the insistence of the broadcasters. The event will take place in London.

The structure for the Premier League has been developed by Matchroom Sport. It has 12 of the best poker professionals playing first in a league format. The leading four players after six league rounds head to the final table of six. The other two spots are to be filled from the next four players at the end of the league rounds. These four players are pitted in heads up matches, with the best two going through. The buy-in is $75,000 and PartyPoker is contributing $350,000 to make a total prize pool of $1.25 million.

Andy Black is the defending champion and he has confirmed his participation. The two other names that have been announced so far are those of Annette Obrestad and Roland De Wolfe. That leaves nine places to be filled.
