MarketPulse keeps track of a lot of records in online poker cash games such as biggest pot, highest traffic, biggest winner and biggest loser. Yesterday one more category was added. This was the largest stack in a No Limit Texas Hold’em game with a maximum buy-in. This means that the size of the stack indicates what the player has won and not what he has brought from home.
Playing at the RailHeaven table at Full Tilt Poker with $500/$1,000 stales, Ilari "ziigmund" Sahamies set a new online poker record for the largest stack on the stable, in the process breaking the million dollar marl for the first time in the history of online poker. At one time ziigmund had $1,140,000 on the table. Though ziigmund had only about $830,000 when he quit, his million-dollar record still stands.
Last month David Benyamine almost reached a million-dollar stack on two occasions but each time he thought discretion was the better part of valor and did not go for the magic number.
