GTech has announced that it was successful in securing an extension of its contract to service the Minnesota Lottery, soon after it was told that it had lost the bid for the Louisiana State Lottery to its rival, Intralot.
The extension, which begins in 2013, will ensure the Providence based GTech an extra 3 years in the state and at least $25 million in revenues.
“GTech is committed to supporting the growth of our customers”, said Jaymin Patel, CEO of the group. “We are pleased that the Minnesota State Lottery has chosen to continue our partnership, allowing us to assist them in their future growth. With this extension, we will work closely with the Minnesota State Lottery in applying industry wide best practices, to increase lottery sales and provide additional convenience for their players and retailers through new self service products, as well as through the roll out of new electronic point of sale advertising displays."
