The Isle of Man, a self-governing entity in the middle of the Irish Sea has become a hub of activity in recent months among online gambling companies.
These groups are flocking to the island in a bid to take advantage of a fast growing economy, comfortable taxation laws and excellent communications infrastructure.
The Isle of Man recently provided operations licenses to at least two egaming companies – Fasbet and the Swedish NYX Interactive. The latter will establish a network hub on the Isle of Man and offer their clients bingo, casino and sportsbetting gaming options, as well as poker.
The Minister for the Department of Trade and Industry on the Isle of Man, David Cretney said: "I am delighted that, through close co-operation between departments within Government, we have been able to attract two leading eGaming companies and further demonstrate our ability to respond to the needs of a dynamic and challenging industry."
