Argentinean Councilor Luis Alberto Mauri is looking to ban all forms of online gaming in his country by passing two bills.
The first bill would ban all forms of online casino gambling – which is still to be defined – and the other would force ISPs to block Argentineans from logging into online casinos. Online casinos and gaming sites that allows Argentineans to visit their sites could face fines and even imprisonment.
Argentinean authorities are quick to point out that their aim is only to ban non-regulated gaming activity. Their plan is to help regulate the industry so that all gaming activity will become taxable and they would be able to get a generous cut of the revenue in the form of taxes.
