The second spot of the 2008 Asian Poker Tour (APT) begins at Macau on August 27 and will run till August 31. There were two grand pre-tournament events held on August 26.
At 3.30 p.m. the APT Poker Room was officially opened on Level 2 of the Galaxy StarWorld Casino Resort and Hotel. Then the afternoon belonged to Doyle Brunson, who is truly a legend of poker. Brunson signed his popular poker books SuperSystem and SuperSystem II. He also interacted with his fans.
At 7.00 p.m. Matt Savage took charge. Savage is one of the most respected poker tournament directors. He hosted a special charity event, the Celebrity Poker Challenge. Many celebrities from outside the world of poker were present. These included boxer Manny Pacquiao, actor Michael Wong and reality TV star and model Tila Tequila. The proceeds will go to Caritas De Macau, which serves individuals, families, communities and societies of Macau.
The night ended with an exclusive party at StarWorld’s famous Whisky Bar.
