NBC’s Poker After Dark Season IV has just gone on air. The format has changed but the class remains. Instead of the six-handed freeze outs the first week provides high stake cash games. The players are Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Baxter, Allen Cunningham, Guy Laliberte and David “Viffer” Peat.
Next week will feature competition between online players and brick and mortar veterans in Nets versus Vets. Brian “SBRugby” Townsend, Dwan and Andrew “Good2CU” Robl representing cyberspace and Doyle Brunson, Huck Seed and Johnny Chan representing terra firma. Then the four winners of the NBC Heads Up Championships, Phil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, Ted Forrest and Paul Wasicka, will compete in a heads up tournament. The buy in is $50,000 and the survivor gets the full $200,000. Another week of cash games is lined up for October 13 featuring Patrik Antonius, Dee Tiller, Howard Lederer, Doyle Brunson, Gabe Kaplan, and Eli Elezra.
