The marathon Event #2 (1,500 USD No Limit Hold’em) ended yesterday, with Grant Hinkle winning the bracelet and 831,279 USD. He beat James Akenhead, who though bereft of the bracelet did mighty well money wise winning 520,219 USD.
The final hand was very interesting. Akenhead called with A-K. Hinkle held 10-4. The flop turned out to be 10-10-4 and knocked out Akenhead. Hinkle is not a professional poker player in the sense that poker is not his profession.
Meanwhile the leaders in the ongoing events are as follows. Event #3 (Pot Limit Hold’em) is down to the last five with Jacobo Fernandez in the lead. In Event #4 (Mixed Hold’em) David Rheem Heads the list. Event #5 is No Limit Hold’em with Rebuys. Craig Gray is ahead with 620,000 chips. Daniel Negreanu is second but with 370,000 chips. It remains to be seen whether Negreanu can turn the tables and win his fourth bracelet. Events #6, #7 and #8 have also commenced.
