The independent region of Madrid in Spain has granted an online gambling license to Casino Gran Madrid.
The Casino Gran Madrid online casino’s license is based on an agreement that was signed in 2009 and will be make it the first land based casino to receive an online gambling license from Madrid.
The online casino will be powered by Playtech, the leading software provider, and the entire range of Playtech online casino games such as roulette, slots, blackjack and online poker will be offered to players. The Spanish solutions provider, Media Tech, will provide the player management system for Casino Gran Madrid online casino.
Although the license for Casino Gran Madrid was already signed on May 17, it was not until the local elections had taken place before the announcement of the license was made public.
According to a spokesperson for Casino Gran Madrid, beta testing is due to take place over the following weeks which could result in this Playtech powered casino being ready to go online within the next month. Casino Gran Madrid online casino will initially only accept players who reside in Madrid and are over the age of 18. A name for the new online casino has not as yet been announced.
